Who was the first to win a world's cup, brazil or uruguay? uruguay. uruguay uruguay won in 1930 against argentina 4-2 in the final Uruguay- there were 11 teams there i believe Uruguay won two WC in 1930 in Uruguay vs Argentina in final and 1950 in Brazil versus Brazil in the final game of the group (not real final) where Brazil could have tied to win WC, went 1-0 then Uruguay won 2-1. Brazil and 170,000 people in Maracana were in mourning that day. Uruguay equalled the 2 WC wins by Italy (1934 and 38). The Uruguayan team was led by Varela and was called "the invincibles". Later on Uruguay became a less important football nation and Brazil became the best. However, Uruguay is still with Brazil, Argentina, Italy and Germany one of the most successful. uruguay was the first country to win the wc. they were also the host Uruguay ofcourse.... they won the first two world cups |
