If a least two defenders must mark Ronaldinho, Henry, Eto'o and Messi....?

... will Real Madrid's formation for next match against Barca be 8-1-1???

Even if it were they would STILL have a better head to head record and stop Barce from winning the title... even if Barce players are allowed to punch the ball into the net!!!
is not about defenders is about to stop the centres that give the ball to them
i guess, it isnt really good to use 4 strikers for barca's formation though... they'll be losing out alot on counter attacks by RM, in any case there were!
real madrid

ROBINHO,RAUL,VAN NISTILROOY,REYES,CASSANO

going to be interesting,
Nah, it'll be 4-4-2.

Sergio Ramos is/counts as 4 (get it? haha)

They would only need 2 attacking players to counterattack against that barca defense anyway with so many players up.
Hi,

I think you are stating a misconception and using it to build a (semi) nonsensical result.

Yes, it is probably quite true the two players will be assigned to mark each of the players you mention...many players, throughout the world, have more than one player assigned to mark them during a game.

However, this does NOT mean that for four players you need eight defenders. The minimum you would need is just two, though they'd be pretty stretched to continuously mark the players you mention. However, in ANY game a player will be, more or less, permanently 'tied' to an opposing attacker.

This is normal and all players are used to this. So if you had one extra player to defend and he 'linked' with the other defenders so they 'overlapped' they could quite easily have two players marking the four attackers 'whenever they were on the ball'

It is that phrase that makes the difference...only one player can be 'on the ball' at any one time. If he then passes the ball, because of the extra defensive arrangements, to another player, then another defender can move across to support the regular marker.

This is normal, understood by anyone involved in football and expected by both attackers and defenders.

The players you mention are certainly very highly skilled and talented footballers, they WILL get extra attention from defenders. It is a measure of their skill that they still manage to break away and score more often than less talented (and less well marked) players.

So, as you question (I'm pretty certain) was not meant seriously I will honour it with an answer...No! it will not be 8-1-1

Hope that explains a little...

Cheers,

BobSpain (who will be watching the match)
We don't need to do that... becuz a team filled with superstars, always fall.
