U20 Games report - by me! Who were you rooting for at these games...? |
Soooo I was at the U20 games today... in Ottawa.. and there were SO MANY Argentine fans!! Anyways, the first game was Panama vs Korea and they drew 0-0. Both countries were pretty equal and good in midfield. There was this one guy on Panama who reminded me of a young CR so I kept shouting that haha 2nd game - Argentina vs Czech. LOADS of Argentine fans.. chanting ARRRGHHHHENTINA! haha you know, the way they do... they drew, 0-0. Fans were really into this game, and Argentina had so many chances (damn Aguero missed all 3 times!! he's gonna kill himself!! lol) Czech held Argentina back which was really amazing to see, they gave Argentina a run for their money! So, who were you rooting for in these games? I was rooting for Korea and the 2nd game I didn't really see a point to joining the Argentina bandwagon and I wasn't a big fan of the Czechs so I just enjoyed it (lol the fans were crazy.. booing and yelling at the ref! haha, they had no idea what they were talking about)! In the Korea game, I was neutral.. but I was rooting for Argentina in the other aforementioned game... Brazil lost against Poland which was a bummer... hopefully Canada wins tomorrow i am looking for canada to do something since they have experienced players than any country in u20 right now so r u gonna write a book abt it?? I want to see Jozy Altidore explode in these games. You have no idea how unbelievabley awesome that would be. kooool!! it wud have been so amazing to b there!! lucky gal..ha? at what price r u ready to sell it to me??hey...i want some discount as i m ur friend! I watched the USA vs. S. Korea game. Honestly, USA was lucky to come out with a tie. S. Korea was VERY good. Very fast, very organized, very impressive. USA played well last 30 minutes---maybe they were the more fit team. It was a good game. With Brazil losing to Poland today, anything could happen in this group. It's really been turned upside down. Here are the reports on the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup held in Canada:- Group D - Poland defeated South American giants Brazil 1-0 courtesy of a 23th minute goal by Krychowiak. Though the Poles were down to 10 men after the dismissal of Kroi for a second bookable offence in the 27th minute, they held on for the win. In the other match, South Korea and the USA drew 1-1 in that tie. The Americans drew 1st blood in the 17th minute through Szetela, but the Koreans replied through Shin Young-Rok after 38 minutes. Group E - The matches in the group were faultless as no cards had been shown by the referees at full-them for both matches. North Korea's 0-0 draw with Panama and the Argentine's 0-0 Draw with the Czechs produced scintillating display of attacking football. To me, though the home nations are favourites to lift the trophy, I believe that the Argentines can lift the trophy they last held 4 years ago. Cheers :) |
