The San Diego Padres, are celebrating "Out in San Diego," Gay Pride, tomorrow?

and the day they chose to have it on, is Kids Floppy Hat day, where adolescent prepubecint t boys and girls, are invited to the ballpark for a free floppy hat. The Gay community will be there in numbers, and many people are going to protest this, I don't thing that any 'sexual' groups, should have been celebrated on a day, when minor children are attending..They don't have Italian day, Muslim Day, Religious days,..Any day special, and many of the macho guys who go to the game and drink beer, are gearing up tommorow. I personally, am not going to go, I don't want to participate, in young kids being exposed to a radical group of people, hugging, kissing, etc, in front of them..no more than I want to see anyone sucking face at the ball park..so what do you think? I am not being mean,. but this isn't right. I feel this is all about money for the Padres.

I agree. There is no Hetero Pride. That's rediculous.

I don't have any problem with gays but you are right, nobody, especially sports teams should be promoting sexuality at a game. That's just crazy.

Also in Atlanta they have held religious promotions "Faith Night". I was not accepting of that either. I think having promotions for religion and gender preference are unacceptable. No sports teams should be promoting "groups" unless it is like children groups or things like college night or whatever.

I have close gay friends and I am faith-based but I don't agree at all with this being promoted in public. It's just not right! And they would agree too.
Wow!! Is that really happening? What has the world come to?
Swell.
It's always about the money, babe. Where've you been?
You're doing the right thing--stay outta there.

(BTW, does it make anyone else giggle just a little that it is on the one day that the giveaway contains the word "floppy"? Just a thought. . . .)
Ever been to an WNBA game. Check out the fans.
Do not let this get you down. It is part of life.
I live in las Vegas where you can see any combination.
Though I don't doubt you, the Padres do not list this on their Web site anywhere - in their promotional schedule, news releases, or anywhere else I could find. They simply list the Floppy Hat Day. So are you sure the Padres are officially sponsoring this, or is a local gay group just using the Padres game as a forum? There is a big difference.

And FYI the Cardinals host Christian family day every year - but things appear to be a LOT different in the Midwest.

But if the Padres are offiically hosting this, I too would deem it inappropriate.
There is no need for a "Hetero" day because gay people aren't unaccepting of straight people. (generally, there are always exceptions)

If you don't like things like "gay pride weeks", it's totally in your power to stop them. And you do that by just realizing that they are but a sub group of people, like men, like women, like left handed people, like people with blue eyes.

But unfortunately, people that are straight (as I am by the way) use words like 'tolerance' and 'understanding', which is BS of course.

Do you have to be tolerant of left handed people? Do you have to merely accept people with blue eyes? No, they are part of the population and you accept them. But western culture, especially America and ESPECIALLY middle America has levels of tolerance that borders on disgust.

And speaking from someone that has a gay couple as close friends, if you think a bunch of gay people get together and kiss and hug any more than straight people do, then you haven't been paying attention.
Rather sickening
