MLB's next MVP? |
Who do you think? A-Rod I hope not....... This is not to say Jose Reyes will win the MVP, but to those who say he cant, the MVP isnt always a big fat first basemen who cant move but can crush a ball 450 feet. Ichiro won the MVP award in 2001, and he hit only 8 home runs. Barry Larkin was crowned MVP hitting only 15 homers. I think with the whole steroid thing, there is a de-emphasis somewhat on home runs. I wouldnt be surprised if the baseball writers who chose the MVPs wanted to focus on people who didnt hit a lot of home runs but do everything else right. Thus, Magglio Ordonez and Jose Reyes seem to have a good shot. I think Prince Fielder will win it in the NL though. He's Ryan Howard all over again, except he's in a slightly more difficult park to hit homers in. If he keeps the pace, it will be him...blah...lol... duh! Jose Reyes! magglio ordonez and prince fielder Jose Reyes will not win MVP this year. He is very good mind you, and I really like the guy but he just doesn't have MVP stats going for him. MVP's are typically guys who can belt out at least 30 homers and more than 100 rbi's. The vote doesn't usually take into account stolen bases, etc. If you look back at prior MVP's it's strikingly obvious. Anyway, I couldn't tell you at this point who would be MVP this year. There are too many people that are at or around the same places in my head stat-wise, so I can't make a good and reasonable case for anyone right now. NL MVP- Prince Fielder AL MVP- Magglio Ordonez Arod sucks D.Lee go cubs i h8 a-rod on the yankes |
