Grant Hill in PHX? |
What would you think will be Grant Hill's role in the phoenix suns next season? starter? reliever? role player or just another Jalen Rose? Now I know there are basketball fans who are always going to be critical with Grant Hill and his injuries. Yes it will always be an issue with him. I believe he will fit in with the Suns. When he is healthy, he will be important to the team especially when Nash goes to the bench. He will be a role player somehow, but not like Jalen Rose, because he is alot better of a player then Jalen. I think this is a step in the right direction in the Suns making a true deeper bench. They still got more work to do on that. As far as Hill being a starter, we will not really know until the Suns are done with all their offseason moves. I think that going after Grant Hill is the not the only move they are going to make. I believe that the team is gearing up for a possible "blockbuster deal", but right now especially after the draft they will take their time and behind the scenes will be working for a trade. Some would say to not do anymore then they have with the signing of Hill, but they do need a big man and I know that is the one things that is always said about the Suns needs. I myself am a big Suns fan and I agree with what the true basketball minds have said when comming to that. I think the team is one or two great players away from finally getting that first championship. I say stay tuned as the preseason draws near as well as training camp and lets see what the Phoenix Suns will look like. I will say this: There are other teams in the Western Conference like the Spurs and Mavs who are awesome, but I say don't countout the Phoenix Suns. GO SUNS! productive off the bench for 10-15 min per game. The Suns starting 5 are fine, they need to get deeper on the bench and that was their goal. Hill should be a 6th man type player that comes off the bench for a spark. I expect he'll get about 25 minutes per game, and score 12-14 points while playing some defense. He'll give them a great spark off the bench, will be a fan favorite, and should come through in clutch situations for them. I'm sure competition for Diaw's spot won't make Diaw happy but you know Grant Hill has a shot to start. I think he can start. You are talking about the man who made one of the greatest plays in college basketball history. Grant Hill is past his prime I say another Jalen Rose as a primary backup player, i wouldn't get why the suns would add him. i like hill and will be cheering for him, but i couldn't see phoenix, a team that basically likes to run on every possession they can, signing an aging, injury-prone player to play 25+ min/g if they wanted to add him to the team as more of a level-headed veteran leader, though, i think this would make much more sense. i would like the move in this case. hill's experience (5-time all-NBA, 7-time all-star, Olympic gold medal winner) should provide help in the playoffs and locker room while also being serviceable in short amounts on the court (last year: 14.4 ppg, 3.6 r/g, 2.1 a/g, .94 s/g, 51.8% fg). i think hill would be much more effective as a phoenix sun if he played closer to 10-20 min/g |
