Do you expect Paxson and the Bulls to make a big move? |
Either a trade or a big free agent signing? He's apparently showed interest in Kevin Garnett, Shawn Marion, and/or Jermaine O'Neal (like anyone hasn't shown interest in these guys). Do you think he'll actually pull the trigger for a low post scoring presence? Since Noah won't solve our problem and will probably go down as one the worst draft picks in Bulls history. Also, who would we get rid of if a trade did go through? Or of course you can tell me why they won't make a move. At first I hated Joakim Noah but just for superficial reasons.. But Pax says he didn't draft him as the answer to low post scoring. As a 7-footer that runs the floor he fits what the Bulls like to do. Dropping the ball into Noah down low isn't going to be the Bulls bread and butter. But the Bulls are a fast break team and 7-footers can't get back to the other end like Noah can. I don't know why I doubted Pax for a second. Pax won't demolish a team to bring in anyone. Garnett is a Hall of Famer but why sell off young guys to have a 3 year window to win a championship. O'neal is getting older as well and wouldn't be around much longer than Garnett. But the Bulls can get O'neal without givivng up everything. Now looking at the Bulls second year players Sefolosha and Thomas,I wouldn't mind losing them because the core stays together. Giving up Sefolosha,Thomas and PJ Brown for Jermaine O'neal is a good trade for both the Pacers and the Bulls and looks very possible. The Pacers get good young players and the Bulls get O'neal without losing key players. Say O'neal leaves in even two seasons, the Bulls still have Ben Gordon,Luol Deng,Nocioni,Kirk Hinrich,Joakim Noah and possibly Ben Wallace. But what I really want to happen and is most likely is the Bulls get an offensive minded mid-level palyer like Fabricio Oberto or Darko Milicic. Both of these players have potential to be scoring threats. I think they'll trade for Pau Gasol, O'Neal, or Marion. They'd have to give up too much for KG. I actually got a big expectation for Noah... and you can'treally decide on him until he plays... I'm also in Chicago and I think they'll get Shawn Marion... as a PF with Deng still in SF. Garnett can waste too much cap space and they'll have to give up hinrich or ben gordon or Luol Deng just for that sign up. Chicago needs to be cool... Apperantly if Billups don't sign with Pistons.... The Bulls will surely be in the finals! I disagree with you about Noah. Paxson has done a superb job with ALL the drafts and I think he's more than earned the benefit of doubt. I don't understand why anyone is down on Noah. We don't need him to be a 7 foot jump shooter. He is clearly a post presence who can dunk, rebound, block, bring energy and play defense. I would love for the Bulls to get one of those guys but Paxson is no fool like Krause. He will not make a bad trade for any of those names. BTW, Minnesota will be the big loser because Pax already made them a generous offer of Deng, Chandler and one of the draft picks and they still turned it down. It's not like the Bulls are going to just throw Gordon in there too for an even older Garnett. it sounds like it would be reasonable for them to get gasol... the trade would send gasol to another conference, memphis doesnt seem to want to keep him that badly, gasol wants to be traded, the bulls need low post help, and the bulls also have lots of young trade pieces (nocioni, gordon, deng, noah, pj brown, sefolosha, duhon, etc) the grizz would be interested in getting back... The Bulls need to rid themselves on KH. Otherwise, they'll remain an overrated, going nowhere team. He'll probably just sit on his hands because it's the easy thing to do. They have a great young solid core with Deng, Hinrich, and Ben Gordon. They should win the East as it stands right now. |
