What do you think of the Jason Richardson for Brandan Wright Draft-Day trade? |
I don't think it was a good idea because the Warriors just got rid of their key offensive piece AND the West has just gotten tougher with Oden and Durant. At first i thought they may try to trade Wright in as part of a deal for KG, but now Wright signed a contract (so he cant be traded for 30 days), so now it seems unlikely. Wright will definitely take time to get to the NBA level. Do u think the Warriors are offering Monta and Biedrins and others instead of Wright? you know its going to be weird seeing jrich in a different uniform. i am angered, but what can i do. i just hope he suceeds with the bobcats because he deserves it and he is a great person. i doubt the warriors are going to send monta and biedrins and others of KG, it just doesnt seem possible. i think the trade was great for the warriors although they dont get a true scorer like richardson they still get tall lanky power foward brandan wright whose long arms can block shots and rebound they shouldnt offer ellis and bierdrins for wright that would be a stupid trade they should and did offer richardson because they remove salary cap space to get a top free agent and have some space for another trade like kevin garnett this trade was a success although i was sad to see my favorite warrior leave I bout lost it draft night when jordan drafted another damn tarheel but guess he got some sense talked in to him great trade only can help the Cats. And dont ask me what the Warriors were thinking was Shocked and Surprised at the Same time. i like it i live in charlotte so woot we got richardson!!! First of all BAron Davis was the key offensive piece for the warriors. Second I dont think KG would suit the warriors offense at all. J rich was an amazing player but similar to the phoneix suns offense the run and gun offense can work without the greatest players as long as you have a great PG which Baron Davis is. For example the phoneix suns have steve nash who is amazing, and he made a bunch of players who were essentially no names into great players. I think this is a good move not only for the future because wright will be a very solid player for this franchise, but also it wont hurt them as much in the present as people think it will. J rich's points are just gonna be spread throught other players on the team., Once upon a time there was a league called the NBA, and it had a salary cap. Because of that salary cap, each team's payroll was limited. In many cases, teams were forced to trade away players to free up contract space for others. One example of this was a team called the Golden State Warriors. Needing to resign star player Baron Davis while lacking contact space, they decided to trade away Jason Richardson and draft pick Jamareo Davidson for Brandan Wright, a player many expected to go near the top 3 in the draft. While this trade drew the ire of ignorant fans unaware of the salary cap, it was really a masterful decision. No longer having to pay J-Rich's oversized contract, the Warriors were able to resign Baron Davis and Matt Barnes. Just as importantly, they acquired a player with much better potential who could be great soon. |
