Hopkins vs. Wright? |
Is Bernard Hopkins past his prime or is Winky Wright Overrated. Who will win? It is a safe bet Bernard Hopkins is past his prime, but not a safe enough bet for Calzaghe to risk fighting Bernard, unless Bernard agrees to fight with his hands tied behind his back or blindfolded. Wink is no spring chicken either, but I think this is the last hurrah for both of them. I consider Winky Wright UNDERRATED, he is a better boxer than people give him credit for, he just lacks one punch KO power. I got to give the edge in this on to Bernard Hopkins, even if he's past his prime. Wink does just enough to win, but get robbed by the judges. He beat both Vargas and Taylor only to get ripped off by the score cards, and odds are he will do enough to beat Bernard, but Bernard will get the decision anyway. I am too much of a realist to expect fairness in the scoring, so Wink is in for another disappointment. I agree with Blog. Winky is actually the best boxer in the game today. He is THE example of great defense, yet stays in the pocket and fights. WAY underrated and unfairly treated is Winky Wright. I would bet my house that he would easily defeat Floyd Mayweather in a fairly judged fight at 154. Oh yeah, he beats an older Hopkins now too! I wouldn't watch that fight if it was free. Winky is overrated because he is an awkward fighter who doesn't really want to mix it up. Taylor was robbed in Memphis, and is the best fighter in the game. He is about to start fighting people who want to fight and his superiority will become very clear. Hopkins is a great middleweight for beating a light heavyweight but Hopkins is definatley at the pit of his prime, he hasn't knocked out anybody since De La Hoya but to me it was a lucky body shot that shocked everyone. Winky Wright has the best defense in any division and the better jabber but he is not a knockout puncher and not much of an attacker or threat to Hopkins. This fight can go either way. winky would win easily. hopkins is way past his prime & winky still has a solid defense if anyone can figure out how to penatrate winkys defense its hoptkins for sure. winky is gonna be the aggreser in this fight to take hoptkins of his game since he likes to stock and counterpunch. i think winky will win by a close decision |
