Pacquiao-Barrera II on Oct. 6? |
BARRING ANY unforeseen circumstance, Manny Pacquiao and Marco Antonio Barrera are going to get it on for the second time on Oct. 6 in Las Vegas. A major breakthrough in the peace talks involving Top Rank and Golden Boy Promotions (GBP) happened yesterday in the US after Bob Arum told media outfits, including the Bulletin, that his promotional firm and the Oscar De La Hoya-owned company "are going to have an announcement on Thursday." "That鈥檚 all I can say this moment and I am still not allowed to speak," said Arum. But somebody who is privy to the talks confirmed that Pacquiao and Barrera will fight in a rematch on Oct. 6 in Las Vegas. "At this very moment, the Pacquiao-Barrera rematch is on but anything can still happen in the next 12 to 24 hours but we are now looking at a Barrera rematch given the favorable result of the mediation." Your Thoughts? There won't be any surprises in this one. Manny is at his best form and Barrera is coming off a loss. Even when they were at par, Barrera was still beaten to a pulp. I think Manny would try boxing with Barrera early. Barrera will outbox Manny in the early frames. I think Manny loses the first 2 rounds. After that, Manny will take over and turn the fight into a one-sided beating. I'd say that Manny will overwhelm Barrera inside and Barrera will turn to survival mode. Manny has developed as a fighter. Barrera has become old. He is on the verge of retiring, all that mattered to Barrera is now written down. Barrera couldn't care less if he loses this fight. He's a legend. Manny by unanimous 12-round decision. What happened to Soto? Hope it's Marquez-Pacquiao for the unfinished "business". Isn't that Pacquiao/Barrea 3? Both with 1 victory...Or am I'm thinking Eric Marrales and Pacquiao With the peace talks and joint promotion by Golden Boy and Top Rank of the Pacquiao vs.Barrera fight, they surely know that they will be promoting a big event which could draw crowd to the venue,even with a hefty charge, and generate a record pay per view revenues. One promoter would make sure it would profit big, but how about two promoters promoting one and the same fight? Bigger profit so that when they divide they will still get big profit? But I agree it would be a hell of a fight ! Yes, let the greed of those two promoters bring the fight out! Pacquiao will deck Barrera again! i hope it would happen its really been anticipated for years now... but if would be manny i'll go straight for the title against marquez... title 1st before anybody else... Pacquiao would destroy Barrera in brutal fashion. It could get ugly seeing a once great fighter reduced into submission. 7 rd KO Pacquiao. I have to agree with most of you guys, even if it huts, manny will beat barrera But what happen with marques? i though he was next in line |
