Sugar ray robinson vs rocky marciano? |
i know this would and could not happen because of the weight differences but if it did who would win Ray Robinson is probably the best pound for pound fighter of all time and would have won the lightheavyweight title over Joey Maxim but the heat and exhaustion were too much and he lost. They actually mentioned to Robinson about Marciano that if he beat Maxim then we will go after Marciano and he replied "man do you want to get me killed?" As great a fighter as he was, he would have been defeated by Marciano. Someone mentioned Roy Jones Jr beating a bigger John Ruiz as a comparison which is really is an insult to both Marciano and Robinson as neither are in the same class as far as greatness goes. I believe that the stronger Marciano would have been too much for the great Sugar Ray Robinson and he would have knocked him out in 8 rounds. The weight difference is too much. You just said you know it wouldn't happen because the weight difference so the answer would be obvious yet you asked it anyway. Why? One of them is a WW/MW and the other is a HW, obviously the HW wins due to size, but pound for pound Robinson was light-years better. Depends - Roy Jones was able to go to heavy and beat Ruiz. If Robinson could carry the weight, there's no reason he couldn't kick Marciano's a*s. Louis, Walcott, Charles, Moore - all hit Marciano with their best shots - none of them hurt him! Knocked down a couple of times but never even stunned. Robinson would be nothing more than a pesky mosquito to The Rock. Robinson, being EXTREMELY careful, wins the first three rounds. Rocky throws a round-house right that Robinson blocks, but is so powerful that Robinson gets knocked out by his own glove. Rocky wins in the 4th. |
