Larry holmes vs lennox lewis in there prime who wins best of 3 fights? Wow, am I going to be hated for this one. Larry Holmes did have the most proficient jabs in the business. But as a heavyweight...I would give the best jab to Muhammad Ali. BUT THE MOST DETERRING JAB, comes from Lennox Lewis. It also depends when you are going to call Lewis' "prime", when he was young or when he was the champ...which spans a long time. Lennox Lewis was a 230-240 heavyweight...with one of the most powerful "big man power jabs" in the biz. I dont care where you put Lewis in history...he could easily, on that jab alone...become a heavyweight champion. I have said it countless times...80 percent of the damage that was done to Mike Tysons face was done from Lewis' jab...it was that powerful. You cant walk in on a 6 foot 4 heavyweight taking bombs like that. Thats not including his right hand. Honestly...as much as I DO LOVE Larry Holmes (and hate him a little for beating my fav champ Ali).....I dont think he would finish three out of three. Lewis is too big....too strong...and Larry's jab wouldnt work, which would take away his best weapon. Lewis two out of three...not needing a rubber match. Larry Holmes, he was a much better boxer than Lewis, and with a stronger chin too. And I'm British, so you can't accuse me of being biased! Definately larry holmes is going to win the first fight. Not only did he had a great jab but he also had great footwork and a great chin. He almost tied Marciano's undefeated record, his prime made him one of the top heavyweights in history. Lewis would not only find away to out jab him, but to out box him holmes elusive style. Lennox could win the second fight. On the third fight, it would be a war. Lewis may have found a way to knock holmes down. But since heavy hitting Earnie Shavers knocked Holmes down but still got up, Holmes would most likely get up from Lewis knockout also. In the end, Larry would have Lewis struggling to survive and Holmes would lose by split decision to end their trilogy. Larry had the second best jab in heavy-weight history(Ali #1 of course). Lennox has been knocked down or out by everyone who could hit. Every time Larry went down he got up (until Tyson and he was washed up then). Holmes would win 2 of 3 ! These would be 3 very good fights with Lewis winning the 2nd by split decision and Holmes winning the 1st and 3rd by KO and UD. You can decide which fight Lennox would lose by KO but the man had a suspect chin and against Holmes in his prime he would get KO'd! Holmes wins all three. |
