People compaire Frazier to Marciano all of the time. If prime Marciano fought Ali only once, whats the outcome I think Marciano beats him. It was a matchup nightmare for young Ali. Think of Marciano as Frazier with two hands instead of one, a better chin, and a harder punch. I hate to admit it, but I think the later version of Ali probably would have beaten Marciano. Source(s): Of course there is the cut factor to consider, but they used to be much more liberal on that than now. Marciano would never have gotten close to Ali. Between the constant "dancing'' footwork and one of the longest reaches in boxing history, the "close quarter brawling" style of Marciano would have been no match! LIFE the muhummad ali of 1964 was too fast on hands and feet to be touch. marciano was a plodder and a bleeder, ali wins by decision or tko in the late rounds by todays standard. Ali by unanimous decision. Maybe even a stoppage. What people fail to realize is, Ali was past his prime when he fought Frazier the 1st time. Ali was just peaking when he was banned from boxing. A prime example was when he fought Cleveland "Big Cat" Williams. He landed over 70% of his punches while it's hard to count any "clean" punches that Ali got caught with.Now that was prime Ali. I think Rocky's winging punches and brawler style would be tailor made for Ali's accurate, stinging punches.To sum it all up, i'd say a pre 67 Ali wins by t.k.o.
