Does Felix Trinidad REALLY think he has a snowball's chance in Hell to beat Roy Jones Jr.?

And why would the former WBA Heavyweight Champion fight a former Super Lightweight fighter? With the exception of money, what does Roy even stand to gain?

I think Roy's only motivation is legacy. He doesn't want the end of his career to be marred with Tarver and Johnson knockouts and if he can get enough wins over some reputable names then the public might just veiw that as a speed bump.

Trinidad? I have no idea of what he might be thinking unless when he saw De La Hoya there in Puerto Rico training that it just llit a fire under him. I don't think he has a chance against Roy but maybe he figures he has nothing to lose and everything to gain. If he puts on a good enough show like De La Hoya did against Mayweather (I know you aren't an Oscar fan but) even if Trinidad loses he might get a lot of respect for going toe to toe with a much heavier top fighter.

Will the fight actually happen? Well I heard that Roy was suppose to fight Mikkel Kessler if he won against his next opponent and also that he was suppose to sign a big contract with Showtime but...with Roy you never know until the ink with his signature is dry.
i dont see how he does you know jones is a beast and really i think joes is only wanting another fight because hes bored with retirment you know
thanks

Roy is going to KO Tito. Roy is stronger and faster boxer. Tito is coming out of retirement and is probably rusty and out of game. Roy knows is a walk in the park and check is in the mail.
i think trinidad has a good chance against jones,,,see jones is going old and in his last fights he hasnt been as good, and hes fighting no-ones trinidad is good and is probably trying to build up for a mega fight
First of all, I don't think refering to Jones as a heavyweight champion does him or us any good. I could probably drag John Ruiz out on my lawn and whip him right now! What weight are they fighting? If it is 160 or less, I think Tito has a decent chance. I think Jones has a glass jaw, and Trinidad might just be able to expose it. people who think mis-match are remembering Jones of ten years ago - not the last couple of years.
A couple of quick comments gang, Jones is now remembered for eating canvas in a major way thanks to Jones and Tarver. He obviously can not stay away from the game, so he has to beat a notable foe, even if it is someone who may no longer be in his prime. You are dead-on with the assertion of Roy supposing to win the fight. To dominate the fight. To kill Trinidad. The build up, the money, the pagentry would all be "through-the-roof". Roy can't continue to fight the Prince Badi's of the world, nor can he afford to turn down a marquee fight. I know like you do, that this is a fight that should not happen, but because of the name recognition and the lack of elite fighters taking on the best possible and/or, worthy opponents it'll be HUGE and it will sell. It'll give guys like us a reason to watch, talk, and party. Oh yeah, If Tito thinks that he can win this fight, he's on dope.
I'm my source basing this on my being a former fighter, current trainer and a boxing buff ....in El Paso today checking out "real deal" tonight at the Haskins Center. Both guys look pretty good.
