Ricky Hatton vs Paulie Malignaggi?? |
With Hatton and Mayweather fighting possibly next year, I think Hatton should take this fight with Paulie. With the aftermath of Hatton's stoppage of Castillo, words from Paulie fighting Hatton has been some strong words. I think this would be a more suitable fight before he fights Mayweather. Hatton has always said he wants to top the card at the Garden so this would be his shot to do so. With Paulie being from Brooklyn and with Hatton's fan following I think they should sell it out like the Cotto-Judah fight. Hatton the walk forward, strong punching fighter and Paulie the slick, fast fighter, makes for a great match up. Your thoughts on this fight happening and who wins. I think it would be a good fight for Hatton if he has his sights on Mayweather. Hatton can practice his cutting off the ring tactics on Paulie. He should spend several rounds acting as if Paulie can punch, so he can practice moving in without getting hit. If he just wades in for an early kill, it won't benefit him as a boxer. It would be a good money fight for both. I don't see Paulie as a PPV draw, but a fight at the Garden with Hatton would be a good 'free' HBO event and the gate would be excellent. I think it would be an entertaining fight, because unlike some of these 'slick boxers', Paulie will fight and throw lots of punches. I am not sure that Paulie would agree to the fight though. His victory over N'Dou has earned him a free pass to one or two easier fights before an almost certain loss to Hatton. I wish it weren't so, but that seems to be the way boxing is going these days. Malignaggi is not really interesting for Hatton. Hatton will fight againt fighters who will bring a lot of money... not Malignaggi. If the fight happen..... a no contest for Hatton & maybe an ambulance ride for Malignaggi. Paulie will probably go the distance and have another disfigured face again. I DONT THINK HATTON WOULD TAKE THAT FIGHT, MALIGNAGGI JUST DOESN'T DRAW CROWDS AT ALL. HE WAS LUCKY TO GET A TITLE SHOT TELEVISED BY HBO, HE DID NOT IMPRESS ME AT ALL. HATTON WOULD WIN IN LESS THAN 4 RDS We all know what Cotto did to Malignaggi. Although Cotto and Hatton's style are not the same they are similar. Paulie better make sure the promoters have an ambulance waiting because he'll need it after this fight. I can see this fight happening also as like you said Hatton wants to fight at the garden, and if he doesent take this fight he probably never will so it will probably happen for that reason alone. Also Malignaggi is the best fight out there for Hatton currently at the light welterweight limit and would make him a three time IBF champ if he won which i think he would do fairly easily. I pedict Malignaggi starting pretty well but Hatton catching up with him and KO ing him in the latter part of the fight. That fight makes better sense if RH is going to fight someone before getting in against PBF. PM is by no means PBF, but if RH can wallop a boxer like PM, then it'll set the table for him against another, albeit immeasurably slicker, boxer in Floyd. SO if RH can beat down Paulie Malignagignaia. It'll get people wondering if he could legitimately beat down PBF. What bothers me is that PM waxes his eyebrows and mousses his hair. |
