Tyson V.S. Dempsey? |
who would win in there prime if these two stars of diffrent times squared off who would win and keep in mind in his prime tyson was unstoppable so give me your outcome and opinion..... Not once ever did Tyson demonstrate that he could beat a great fighter who wasn't afraid of him. I don't think Dempsey would be afraid of a kodiak bear. Based on that - Dempsey. Tyson weighed 20 to 30 lbs. more than Dempsey in their primes. I think Tyson would knock Dempsey out fairly quickly. However, if Dempsey had the advantage of modern training he would have increased his weight and strength. Given that Tyson is a poor technical boxer, and that Dempsey was exceptional, Dempsey could probably avoid the close-action impact of Tyson's power and win a 12 round decision. Remember, Tyson never beat a skilled true heavyweight. It all depends if tyson faught a fair fight i mean they are both good competitors but if i had to choose i think tyson would take it. but i also think it would be a good fight. Good question...Could possibly go either way. You seem to lean towards Tyson since you say he was unstoppable in his prime. That was however also the case with Dempsey. Their styles were similar. They would tear into an opponent like a couple of tigers. As a pro, Dempsey was never ko'ed. Mike might get a bit flustered at that when Jack would standup to his bombs. Both were fearless fighters. I think it is a toss up. I might lean a little in the direction of Dempsey because I think Jack had more "heart". (example, like when he got back into the ring against Firpo and ko'ed him). On the other hand, Mike was still in his prime when Buster Douglas ko'ed him. Since he could not put Douglas away, he seemed to lose heart as that fight went on. Of course, I think some luck was on Buster's side. When Tyson dropped him, they could not give that ref a speeding ticket when he picked up the count. Again, a great question... Who could say. But what a fight it would be! |
