Who do you think the best boxer was ever? |
they say asked over 200 boxers (currently boxing and retired) and it turns the majority of them said larry holmes above other greats like marciano, tyson, ali, liston and so on. mayweather and a couple others(gatti, de la hoy, roy jones jr) said that Ali is the greatest in the fans eyes because he proclaimed himself as the greatest. who do you guys think? Larry Holmes is without doubt one of the most underrated Heavyweight champs ever he had great technique but he ruled the division at a time when there was a bit of a lull in the division so he weren't really able to have the signature fights that the other greats had i mean a lot of peoples main memory of Larry will be him being destroyed by Tyson which is a crying shame. Now i am going to try and confuse you because i am going to give you 3 answers to your question. 1, The Greatest boxer ever is Muhammed Ali not only because of what he accomplished in the ring but what he did out of it as well. 2, The Best boxer ever (which is the question you have asked) would probably have to be the brilliant Sugar Ray Robinson, he had everything and his career is unsurpassed. 3, My favourite boxer ever is without doubt Marvin Hagler, probably not up there with the two mentioned above in most peoples eyes, absolute warrior but also with great technique just as good fighting Orthodox as he was Southpaw, mesmorizing to watch. mike tyson was the most exciting to watch. But I think the best boxer of all time was Muhammed Ali. Rocky Balboa! The Rocky Movies! Sugar Ray Robinson.....period. 175 wins 19 losses Went 95 fights before taking his first loss. No other fighter is near that This question has no conterversy as the winner. Walker Smith jr. a.k.a. (Sugar Ray Robinson) 85-0 69 as an amateur. Started his career 128-1-2- with 84 kayos. Finished his career 175-19-6 with 2 no decisions and 108 knockouts. He was voted A..P. E.S.P.N. and RING fighter p4p of all time. Even those who worship draft dodging millitent Ali will say he even said SRR was the best. It came from Ali himself. Larry Holmes was a great and veeeeeery underatted champ even after destorying Ali, Norton, and whoever he fought.
