What muscles do boxers focas on? |
What muscles do boxers focas on? The fast-twitch muscle Everything. The arms for punching, the legs for balance, the abs chest and shoulders for protection, the neck for chin protection, the back muscle for body movement, everything. First of all, don't lift weights! Do tons of push-ups, sit-ups. squats, jump rope, run (backwards too). hit the bags, medicine ball, shadow box. Always do lots of stretching to keep muscles loose and limber. When you are fighting you use all of your muscles. You can no focus on anything in particular. Strength comes from speed and timing. TRAIN EVERYTHING. That cant be stressed enough. Take lessons from the greatest fighters of all time. For example, Tysongenerated alot of power through his legs and so he would do alot of squats, this is good as it builds your legs and gives you that extra power in the uppercut department. Weights are a good idea, no more than twice a week though but when you do them do them properly and have a goal in mind, not to look good but to build strength. Weighted chin ups are fantastic as is a powerlift, once a week only for the powerlift though as too much is detrimental but once a week gives you that killer punch that every fighter craves. The rest is road work, bag work and general floor work (even the muscles in your neck.) everything mostly legs and arms |
