Does anyone think when Roy Jones is focused he can be dominate? |
I think when he is really focused he can beat anyone in that Light Heavyweight division mowglie boy is right, your talking about a guy who ran boxing 4 over 12 years strong.....not saying he cant beat any of them guys but its unlikely It has nothing to do with focus. It has to do with he's 38 years old and past his prime. When he was in his prime he would destroy any LHW out there no question, but he's an old man now, he's not what he used to be. Roy can accomplish anything he sets his mind to do!!!! Roy's focus wouldn't be the problem. Roy Jones could be the most focus person in the sport, but father-time is something that he can't control. No matter how focus Jones is, he can only be as fast or as strong as his body will let him at this point of his life. Due to the lack of speed that he once had, Roy would have to resort to different tactics in some of his fights. And in his late 30s, who knows if those tactics would really work against all upcoming challengers. He was focused in the his 3rd fight with Tarver and he still lost. It has nothing to do with his focus it has to do with his confidence. He has lost it. I do think he will destroy Felix Trinidad if the rumors are true of the upcoming fight. He built a career out of popping the caps off of amateurish competition, but I loved when he beat John Ruiz for the WBA heavyweight strap. Nowadays, Roy is better off counting money and being a failed hip-hop artist. He's been KO'd three of his last five fights. Time to retire! The answer to this quesiton depends on who we are talking about: the old Roy Jones we all know and love, the pound for pound king, Mr. Bad *** Jr. who took to school and embarassed every boxer with enough balls to step in the ring with him. Where did he go? NOBODY could beat him or match his skills. Many tried, many got beat down. If we are talking about the washed up, sad looking, every punch knocks him out Roy have been seeing lately, the one with the glass jaw, who cant figure out how to get out of the way of incoming bombs, who seems to be prefectly satisfied with not getting knocked out (ie Antonio Tarver II) rather than winning; here is a word of advise: PLEASE retire. You are tarnishing your legacy, and making your self look bad by fighting these bums who dont deserve to be your da*m golf caddie, let alone share the ring with ya. Although, Roy is still way better than your average light heavyweight boxer, he will never be the dominant fighter he once was and will never be the real champion of the light heavyweight division. Sorry, but this is the truth. |
