Will boxing ever be as popular again as it used to be? |
seems to me the sport has lost alot of fans and interst and i don t see that changing anytime soon We have to return the sport to the regular people.... it has to be on regular TV........ Promoters have stolen the sport away from the common man .......Another aspect is where do the great boxers come from, well brother it aint from homes that can afford pay per view ....so king and arum guys like that shoot themselves in the foot........ wheres the new talent gonna come from yess... its very popular here in the Philippines.. have you ever heard of Manny Pacquiao?? he is definitely a good one.. only if there will ever be a boxer like mohammed ali again then yes, otherwise no. I think it is becoming a lost art. nah becasue its a dangerous sport and people are too chicken these days. Alas, no. What a beautiful sport! Grrr!!! is right, an Ali is needed. On the bright side, Ali sure was the way to go out, if boxing is finished! no, in the 60's and 70's you saw major fights on NBC, ABC, or CBS. Now the big fights are always on pay per view costing $39.99 - 49.99. No way main stream audience will pay that much for a fight. The only people who follow boxing now are hard core fans and occasional fans who want to see a big match. nowadays, MMA or Ultimate Fighting, which can be seen every night on a couple channels is gaining all the attention. |
