Who if any deserves to get their full boxing license back: Mesi, Morrison, Hollyfield, Bowe, Spadafora? |
Mesi had bleeding on the brain in two spots, Morrison tested positive for HIV, Hollyfield actually passed the tests but can't get a license out of Texas, Bowe was thought to have brain damage by Tennesee commision and Spadafora was arrested for shooting his girl friend. Am I forgetting anyone? You pretty much labeled the reasons why boxing is still a sewer of corruption. It is criminal to allow Mesi to box, the commission who licenses him should be charged with murder if Mesi dies in the ring. Joe suffered a serious brain injury in the Jirov fight and should be forced to retire from boxing. Any fighter who steps into the ring with Morrison is a better man that the blogbaba, last I heard HIV was still incurable. It is transmitted by the exchange of bodly fluids and it just doesn't go away because you question the test that IDed it, most will find it difficult if not impossible to risk fighting Morrison regardless of the licensing issue. Holyfield to a lesser extent, and Bowe more so have obvious signs of slurred speech and other TBI symptoms clearly brought about by boxing, in fact Bowe's brain injury is a matter of public record due to a court case. As for Spadafora, once he clears up his legal problems, he will fit right in, boxing has always provided violent criminal behavior with a socially acceptable outlet for such behavior and is famous for rehabilitating criminals. "Deserve" is a difficult word, it implies owing someone something that they earned. If that is the case, then both Holyfield and Bowe earned the right to retire from boxing on their own terms. Still the need for some federal regulation of boxing standards is obvious in the cases you mentioned above. As for forgetting anyone, the last three times I watched Thomas Hearns fight, I simply prayed for an injury free ending to the fights, not even caring who won the fights. Tommy is in the same situation as Holyfield or Bowe, a great champion who should have retired long ago, still fighting long past his prime. Holyfield Hoylfield deserves to get his full boxing license back absolutely!!! For sure, not Mesi & Morrison & Bowe. Mesi & Bowe are really taking a risk. Bowe needs to be retested by other commissions to confirm if he is brain damaged to any degree. That possibility along with the fact that he has not fought in a long time leaves him prone to injury if he is unhealthy. Morrison was tested years ago and was found to be HIV positive. The test was done by a very fine doctor who specialized in HIV/AIDS cases. Tommy recently had his first fight after many years out of the ring. He is also 38 years old. (Bowe is no spring chicken either) In Tommy's case, he said that he has been tested again and there is no sign of HIV in his system. I for one never heard of it all of a sudden disappearing from the system. He can also put other fighters at risk if he gets cut. Masi is a real talent, but has blead from the brain on two different occasions. Since most boxing fatalities occur from head trauma, he should not be licenced anywhere! Hollyfield is fooling himself. He had a great career, but at his age he should call it a day. OK, Spadafora shot his girl friend. Perhaps with a few more head shots he will go on a 6 state crime spree. I think all of the above men should not be allowed to fight anymore. Just my opinion I don't think neither one of them should get a full boxing license. Holyfield has been taking too many punches to the head, Mesi needs to look out for his well being before he ends up like Holyfield or worse. Bowe, well.........you have to be mentally imbalanced to kidnapped your wife and family. Morrison, he needs to take a test and let the commissions see it instead of saying he's HIV negative and expects everyone to believe him. Spadafora, he shot his girlfriend........that could have easily ended up a murder charge. but in this day and time, Spadafora and Morrison would have the best chances of getting a license more so than the others. Very good question! I don't think any of these fighters should be allowed to fight again. If I had to pick I would have to say Evander Headbuttlowfield although I don't like him, never have. If Mesi dies somebody will get charged for murder. Morrison has lied about not having HIV anymore and shouldn't be allowed to step into the ring again. Bowe looked real bad the last time I seen him fight against some unknown fighter. Bowe should have lost that fight, can't remember his opponents name but Bowe got rocked a couple of times. Spadafora well by shooting his girlfriend, he should be behind bars for life. How is it that everytime Tyson did something bad, everybody jumped on him, what about Spadafora shooting his girlfriend yet he is still walking free? |
