Dwight muhummad qawi 41-11-1 (23) vs. marvin johnson 43-6 (35) @ light heavyweight...pick em? Another tough call with two evenly matched fighters in this one Dwight Muhammad Qawi is clearly the favorite. Johnson lost to Saad Muhammed in a classic after winning the early rounds then fading, and the same would happen against the best of the famous Islamic converts. Dwight Braxton was too strong for Johnson, and the name change wouldn't have effected his boxing game enough for Johnson to beat him. Johnson wasn't ever at the level of Michael Spinks or Evander Holyfield, and that is the skill level needed to beat Qawi. Dwight Muhammad Qawi by KO in 10 rounds.Braxton/Qawi was too powerful for Johnson. He pretty much cleaned house until Mike Spinks came along. I remember when Franklin, Gregory and Braxton all became Muhammads at about the same time - and they were in the same division! I couldn't figure out who was who! Glad Spinks came along and cleared things up. I will go with Johnson. DRAW!!! Qawi would have given Johnson a fearful beating. Qawi by 6 round KO. |
