Tito could hit with the best of them, but Benitez went 15 rounds with THE BEST 147 lb. slugger of them all in Hearns, so Wilfred's chin would have held up against Tito. I give Benitez the edge as far as boxing skills against the heavier hitting Trinidad. Benitez by decision. Benitez easy,,,Wilfred was a beast. I'd go with Trinidad. Benitez was a very talented fighter but his complacency and laxity in training robbed him of his greatness. On the other hand, Trinidad, for all his weaknesses e.g. glass chin, etc., always comes in prepared and in perfect shape. okay first of all im full 100% puerto rican both wilfred and felix full 100% puerto rican loved by many including me but honestly felix trinidad is a one deminsional fighter he wouldnt touch benitez wilfredo benitez world champion at 17 the youngest world champion hes known for his crazyyyy defense trinidad wouldnt touch him benitez had the nickname "el radar" (the radar) wilfredo said once he had radar in his eyes because he saw any punches coming he also took a fight versus suger ray leonard with only 2 weeks notice and after the fight leonard says he never missed so much in his life now boxing today isnt the boxing back then middleweight was packed with stars duran haglar hearns leonard etc. for wilfred to be world champ at 17 is more difficult then anything trinidad has done because of weak divisions versus wilfreds time division had depth Power: Goes to Trinidad Speed: Goes to Benitez Defense: Goes to Benitez Speed is everything in boxing Benitez wouldve boxed trinidad just like hopkins did and probably even better, being fighters back then were so much better conditioned Bottom Line: Not to take anything from trinidads career but Wilfredo Benitez vs Felix Trinidad goes to Benitez because how is trinidad going to hit what he cant touch? |
