Does anyone else miss Ike Ibeabuchi (sp?) besides me? Is he still in jail or what? Yes he is still in jail, he's been denied parole twice and is eligible again in 12/2007 I can't say i MISS him, only saw him fight twice, but he looked like he was incredible, another Tyson. An Ibeabuchi-Tyson fight would have been amazing but will never happen I think Ike's crimes were both a lot more serious and (in my opinion, a lot more legitimate crimes) than Tyson's. He was charged not only with rape, but the victim was held hostage so there was no "he said/she said" 3 days later as in the Tyson case........the police stormed his hotel room where she was and he tried to evade capture and he ended up getting pepper sprayed, arrested and is serving 5-30 years Plus he has been far from a model prisoner. Plus there was a previous incident where he kidnapped an ex-girlfriends child, and rammed his car into a concrete barricade, causing the child permanent injury, he cannot walk now. Ike was originally charged with Kidnapping and Attempted Murder, but later that was reduced to false imprisonment because the judge ruled Ike was trying to commit suicide............(What does HIS wanting to commit suicide possibly have to do with fact he was in the process of an attempted murder as well??????????) He served only 120 days and no psychiatric care although he was suicidal?? Then he threaten HBO executives with a knife during a dinner. And was pepper sprayed and arrested at DFW for violent,erratic behaviour after his flight was overbooked His promoters, attorneys and law enforcment have all said he appeared severly mentally ill, heard demons, at times believed he really WAS "the president" (it's his nickname but apparently he thought he was the REAL president of the whole WORLD. He was briefly an awesome fighter, handspeed and stamina like you wouldn't believe for a heavyweight, but I think he is a far, far more dangerous man than Tyson ever was and should not be back in the ring. I can be awed by him as a fighter and still think he is a dangerous and crazy man. The D.A. who prosecuted him in the kidnapping case of the ex-girlfreinds kid stated: "鈥淚 fully expected that his contact with the criminal justice system had not ended with our county. We weren鈥檛 able to get him examined, but it sure seemed to me鈥攅ven if he was a heavyweight boxer looking at making millions of dollars鈥攖hat he should have been committed to a psychiatric community and treated.鈥?br /> He got away from attempted murder because the judge determined he was suicidal, yet they WEREN'T ABLE to get him examined?? He could of really been something if he wasn`t crazy as hell. I read one time they had to lure him out of his hotel room by referring to him as Mr. President because he believed he was. He went on to become a rapist and criminal not fit for society. I can't really say that I miss any athlete who messes up their career, let alone rapes someone. Though, at times I am curious as to how much of a success he would've never got in trouble. Can't believe a chick would miss a rapist. His wins over David Tua and Chris Byrd were impressive. I would love to see him fight against Mike Tyson or Samuel " The Nigerian Nightmare" Peter. Ike could have been great. What a waste of talent on a man who disrespected women. |
