Why didn't Maxie Rosenbloom and Tommy Loughran ever meet in the ring? |
They fought in the same era and had several common opponents yet never faced each other. Bluedevil I wrote to Loughran's people awhile back because I always wondered that also. They never responded back and I also asked them about the two meeting in a restaurant and fighting each other there but they never answered. Great question the family should know. Because Loughran would have slapsied Maxie. Loughran's career started ear;ier than Maxie's. By the time Maxie got in Loughran's league Tommy was already zooming in on the heavyweights. Thank God they never met. Two featherfists like this could have only produced a pugilistic pillowfight. |
