Boxing Trivia...Which fighter put Jake LaMotta on the canvas? |
If memory serves me...it was the first and only time LaMotta was floored. Jake was famous not only dishing out punishment, but for also taking big shots and not going down. Until near the end of his career he was never knocked off of his feet. Not even Ray Robinson who beat him on TKO's could knock him down. Then it finally happened. Any idea who accomplished it? 1952-12-31 LaMotta was floored in the 7th by Danny Nardico. LaMotta's corner stopped the fight between the 7th and 8th. wild guess - tony zale? Did LaMotta fight Tony Zale? Ace is awesome! Throwing out his confessed fixed fight against Billy Fox which he confessed to throwing he was only knocked down once in his career of 106 fights and that was against one Danny Nardico. SRR stopped him on his feet.
