Did DLH make alot of mistakes in picking his opponents?

Shouldn`t he of had a rematch with Trinidad? Or after beating Mosley and getting ripped off in the second match, why not fight Forrest the two time conqueror of Mosley? (I know about Mayorga`s two victories over Forrest) I just think he`d of rekindled his name beating Forrest immediately after he beat Mosley. Why not Spinks when he got his gift against Mayorga? I still think even as a 10 year past his prime 10 round fighter he`d beat Cotto. Guess what I`m saying is style wise could he of picked better opponents then the track star Mayweather and the lightning quick Mosley?

He tried for a rematch but Tito never gave him a rematch. Oscar fought top tier boxers on the likes of Mosley and Hopkins and risked not only his belt but his aura of invincibility. Bad breaks against Tito and Maryweather.

Despite Oscar's drawing power those alternative fights you mentioned would have not have gotten as much attention as the fights he did fight. The reason anyone wanted to see Forrest was because at the time Shane was the top guy to beat, and Forrest had beat him in the Olympic trials, or amateurs not sure. That was enough to sell that fight, because there was a rivalry there. And anyways Mayorga beat Forrest after that so why would Oscar fight him?As for Spinks, they would have been one of those fights with a lot of risk and no reward. Spinks would be the only one who would benefit out of that fight. I do agree that Oscar can beat Cotto, because Oscar is taller and when he wants he boxes beautifully. And also about the Trinidad rematch, I don't know why he didn't push that rematch, maybe it was because he and most of the fans knew that he really won that fight..

A rematch could still come along if Trinidad decides to make another comeback. Interesting points you made there like DLH vs Forrest now that would have been an interesting fight even though Mayorga had just beaten Forrest. Better off DLH should have fought Mayorga right then and there. Cory Spinks as much as I don't like him most likely would have beaten DLH by decision unless the judges would have gave DLH the victory. I agree DLH could very well beat Cotto. DLH should have never gave Mayweather Jr the opportunity to make more money. DLH should try to convince Trinidad out of retirement though, now that would be the biggest fight to date!
