Can Laila Ali at 175 lbs defeat Ivan Calderon at 105 lbs ( he's the smallest men champion at straw weight )... No, I do not believe she could. Women naturally aren't built to take punches like men are. Granted they can take punches from other women, because they arent getting hit as hard by another woman as if they were getting hit by a man. Now Laila could beat my a** because I'm not in great shape, and am not trained to fight. But any trained male boxer will be able to beat any trained female boxer, no matter what the size difference is. Its more science and genetics than anything. probably could I don't see why not. She's that big??? Depends. Judging from what you just said ... She could probably knock him out with her weight advantage alone, but since he's a champion, he could find tactics and other ways to outsmart her in the boxing ring. Having advantages of size doesn't always determine everything. If you have seen Laila fight, you know she has mad skillz. She'd whoop my *** and probably yours too (even if you wouldn't admit it). Haha. Although she's doesn't have the power of a 175 male boxer, she is still a professional, this is what she does for a living. And a 70 pound weight advantage is tremendous. If she were to connect with a power shot, and the question is if, the fight would be over. Plain and simple. No Pride alone would not allow this 105lb champ to lose! It would take him a few rounds to wear her down, but could you imagine how he would feel if he were to lose?... That right there would cause him to dig deep and get it done despite the weight advantage. Those straw weights are fast and quick and he would use that to his advantage. Late rnd TKO or UD. |
