DLH vs Thomas Hearns on the peak of the game? |
Speed Power and boxing skills on both boxers How would win. The key word here is "peak". DLH would never have taken this fight precisely because he never beat anyone at their peak. I know....DLH fought Trinidad and many believe he won. Hearns would not have fought DLH the way Trinidad did. Trinidad fought like it was his 1st time at the "big show". DLH had the perfect opportunity to rise to the occasion against Trinidad and he blew it. DLH did not rise in weight with any kind of power that would have garnered respect from Hearns. Hearns has all the advantages.......height, reach, speed and........oh yeah, I almost forgot.......POWER. He would have walked through DLH. Hearns' career speaks for itself. He left enough evidence to see that this fight would have been a mis-match. Hearns would knock DeLaHoya out. Hearns has a 5 inch reach advantage, and if his legs are right like they usually were, Hearns out boxes and out punches DeLaHoya. Tommy Hearns would pound Oscar's head in! Not really a fair match-up because Oscar was much better at the lower weights. once he got to 147, he became quite beatable. Hearns would destroy DLH to fast too strong. Hearns only lost to Hall of Famers... Hearns was a beast at welter, Hearns early KO *laughs* Hearns, ko in 1. Before asking this Q, research Hearns' frightening ko power. If this were a bet...my money would be on Hearns. On paper, The Hit Man wins this easily (too big...too strong). But I remember saying that about Hearns-Leonard 1...and it didn't exactly work out that way...LOL While Hearns overall has the superior tools...I'd have to give the edge in heart to DLH. Never underestimate a great boxer w/ heart! |
