15 rounds at middleweight Hearns best chance in this fight is a KO. Burley had one of the best chins in boxing. Burley out boxes Hearns and takes a close decision. There is a possibility that Burley would KO Hearns but more likely this a decision for Burley in a great match up. Burley was the all-time "uncrowned champ." Burley was a miracle. Burley!!!! If Ray Robinson didn't want to fight him - Hearns definitely doesn't want fight him! Burley wins! Thomas Hearns would have destroyed Charley Burley. The 50s and 60s were very lacking of serious talent in the middleweight divisions. Even Sugar Ray Robinson losing to LaMotta and Turpin. Please. The Hit Man would have had an easy day at the office taking out Burley in less than 3 rounds. I have heard a lot of good things about Burley from some respected boxing personages, but I never actually saw Burley on tape,and only read about his career on line, and in some old newspaper articles. Thomas Hearns has been a house hold name in the Detroit Metro area for the past twenty years, and I have seen Tommy go from this skinny gangly kid, to a 7 time world champion hall of famer. I am a huge Hearns fan, and believe me when I tell you, if Hearns hit a fire hydrant flush on the chin, it would fall over. If the punch that broke Tommy's hand and split open Hagler's head had hit Marvin on the chin, Marvin would have woke up thinking he ran into the ring post, but it landed high, and the rest is history.
