Will there ever be another great American heavyweight champion? |
It seems like all of the good heavyweights these days are from Eastern Europe. First let's get started on this whole UFC thing, UFC isn't killing boxing, as a matter of fact it shouldn't even be considered in the same breath as boxing, it shold be more compared to wrestling cause they have cheerleaders/dancers at the beginning of the show just like wrestling, they also have all these ridiculous MMA style companies (UFC, Pride, Xtreme, and some other stuff) and so does wrestling (WWE, ECW, TNA, and other junk) anyway i can go on forever on how MMA is closer to wrestling than it is to boxing so now let me get to the real question.....I dont see any "great" American heavyweight champs any time soon not with European fighters like Oleg Platov, Alexander Povetkin, Alexander Dimitrenko, Samuel Peter, Ruslan Chagaev and Taras Bidenko on the rise, they are all under 30 years old now as for American hopefuls i dont see anyone who stands out more than the other so i dont expect any U.S. HW any time soon. i dont think so, boxing is soon going to be extinct. ufc is taking over. yes but you just have to what for it There will certainly be other American heavyweight champions. Great??? Hmm...don't know about that. But boxing is dead and has already been blown away by UFC. There's still room in the sporting world for boxing, it will still be a showcase for striking as a fighting style. But the MMA style is here to stay. Nope there won't be the tysons, ali, frazier, foreman but holyfield is still there but he's aged and he says he is still in his prime.... roy jones jr should move back up to heavyweight LOL good one american heavy weight champion. UFC is taking over and the Boxing powers to be are fighting mad. HEY BOXING GET OVER IT or get better boxers and judges. |
