Why didBrazil stop playing their Samba type of football which was entertaining also goals were superbly scored

Brazilian football has always been overrated in terms of entertainment.

Most of the time they pass it around aimlessly, going nowhere. However, they have always had such good players that when they do decide to have an attack they often score.

When you watch clips of their great goals of the past you are watching the rare examples of attacking play, so it gives the illusion of entertaining football.
Great question.....it happened when the German, physical style football began to win out, starting I think in the 80's. Brazil, with much dissent coming from Pele and others, began to change their style, to match up better with the more phsical teams.
I often wonder why good things go bad once they are taken away from the people that created them. This is a good example. Now it seems that glam and tech have taken over the true essence of Brazilian soccer. It would seem that players are more concerned about their looks and sponsoring products for money, than holding fast to their roots and what got them to where they are now. Kids used to play in the streets or wherever they could, they did not depend on a FIFA approved soccer ball or expensive hight tech shoes, they were doing what they knew best, barefoot at that, I even heard Pele used to play barefoot with coconuts, but that could be part of the mystique surrounding him. The FIFA is not exactly a charm school either, it handles enormous amounts of money so of course it involves the interests of a lot of people and corporations. I guess that is the reason why things are changing. Take for example the extreme skateboarding championships. In my opinion, it was much more fun when you were not competing and having to adhere to regulatory exercises and points system. The rebellious essence has gone out of it too.
More direct physical football is considered more efficient than samba style, so the Brazilians have adapte in order to keep up with the rest of the world. Apparently nowadays Brazilian teams pick the young boys for the youth teams who are more physically developed and train them to be footballers as it is easier than picking a small, skilful player and trying to build his physique.
I think they have changed there style simply because they can't beat more physical and fitter teams than them so they have adapted there game ....
i agree they are becoming more and more tacticle and are not good at it either
because dunga does not want to call up ronaldo
