Some good lightweight meal ideas, 3 servings?

I have 6 days of breakfast, lunch, dinner that I need to plan for, but just give me as many as you've got.

instant oat meal

instant malt o meal

tea, coffee (get the bags that you can put in a cup)

ramen noodle (crap but it's easy to make and lght)

rice+beans use parboiled(instant) rice

instant soups

dehydrated backpacking meals from camping stores

mac+cheese

cookies

gorp

energy bars

string cheese

bring some dried spices and sugar, salt also

be sure that you are getting adequate calories/day if you are doing strenuos things like hiking/backpacking, 2500-3000 calories day

if you are relying on a backpacking stove avoid things that will take a lot of fuel to cook Source(s): backpacking for 20 years
who has heard of light weight meals?
Fruit in cans can be a good & healthy breakfast, lunch can be done by taking Kraft cheese & bread, dinner, well dinner could be the best, if planning to make a fire you can take canned beans with crackers, that's a light packed 3 meal deal. Was a boyscout for 8 yrs, trust me, there's no better way to go than canned food. Drinks are optional, gallons of water & take some Powdered Iced Tea. Good Luck!
Since you didn't mention price as being a problem, I would suggest the Mountain House freeze-dried foods. They are the lightest and you just have to rehydrate with hot water. So if you have a water source and don't have to pack it all in, just get those and a light backpacking stove like JetBoil and you'll save a lot of time and weight. Definitely plan out each meal since you don't want any extra weight. Powder drinks are good also to save weight, but I prefer tea bags & honey sticks.

Or you could get most of the meals freeze-dried and add in some fresh items that aren't too heavy like, fruits & veggies, or whatever you really want to have. Maybe a Coke and a Snickers, when you've feel you've earned it. ;)

Mountain House is just one company that makes foods like this, but we really prefer their dishes to most others. You can either order them directly from their website, or pick them up at sporting good stores like Sport Chalet, REI, etc... If you are worried about the taste, just try them with your companions first to see what you all agree to eat.

Some other general ideas:

-Beef jerky, crackers, dried fruit will sustain you, but you'll get tired of it.
-Tuna is tinfoil packets with mayo and pickle relish in small packets with pita bread makes a nice lunch and doesn't need refrigeration beforehand.
-If you really need milk, get the powder milk and add water later when you need it.
-Carry seasonings, it makes bland things taste better!
Dinner? Use any of the Knorr Lipton brand meals. All you need is water, usually, and they are ready in under 10 minutes. Want to jazz them up a bit? Use one or two aluminum pouches of tuna, salmon, shrimp or crabmeat. The pouches are lighter than canned items. Easy, lightweight, and good to eat. But be sure to take them out of the boxes before you leave home and repackage in a zip-loc bag. There are some that need milk to cook -- just add some powdered milk and add additional water to the pot.
Breakfast? Instant oatmeal packets. Powdered eggs can be simply mixed with water and cooked any style you like (as long as its scrambled). Sprinkle in some bacon bits and you've spiced it up! Again, repackage in plastic bags to decrease the weight.
Just be sure you have enough water on hand before you need to start cooking.
Lightweight backpacking for many years!
