How to help a little girl to pee in woods? |
She's 7, and were going camping with no restrooms. I have a little girl too, so I know that you're serious when asking this question. Because your daughter is seven, I recommend that Mom or an older sister go out with her and show her how to hang onto a branch while squatting. It's something I think you have to show her so that she's not embarrassed and won't fall into stuff she shouldn't. *No one* is graceful in that position, and she will feel more comfortable knowing how to do it differently when in the woods. If you are car camping, you could get a porta-potty. Check out these: http://beprepared.com/product.asp_q_pn_e... and http://beprepared.com/product.asp_q_pn_e... or http://www.workinggear.com/gc/customer/p... Ultimately though if she's going to grow up really loving the outdoors and camping like you're trying to show her, you should make it kind of seem like a fun thing, maybe a bit silly perhaps, but still a skill worth having. It worked for my daughter after we taught her how to hang onto a really strong branch. :-) Good luck! tell her a ghost story and then a little later, sneak up behind her and grab her. She will pee in the woods. Trust me, it has happened to me. Take along a bucket - and set a piece of cardboard over the top with a hole cut thru it... That way she won't end up peeing on her shoe! I always hated it when that happened! ;-) i like the bucket idea, but you can also sit on a rock so that she is actually not "flying" on anything. as long as she keeps her feet out of the way, it works. |
