What size bike 14 year old?
im a 14 year old boy im 5`2 and im 125 pounds what size bike would work. do you guys think 19.5 intches would be good.
19.5 sounds too big for someone who is 5'2". Here's the general rule. Stand over the bike, straddling the frame between the handlebar and the seat. Place one hand on the handlebar, one hand on the seat and lift up. You should be able to lift the bike about 2-3 inches. Any less (or not at all), the bike is too big. Any more, the bike is too small.
Once you have the right size frame, you'll need to adjust the seat height. Adjust the seat so that when sitting on the bike with one pedal all the way down (in the six o'clock position), place a foot on that pedal. Your leg knee should have just a slight bend to it.
well what are you going to use it for. are you going to BMX, mountain bike, ride to school every day,
I would suggest for
BMX 16" or 17"
Mountain biking 20"
riding to school 20"
14 year olds should get a bike with 24 inch wheels.
Don't get a bike that is too big, you'll crash and hurt yourself.
You really need to go to a reputable bike shop (a nice little local joint, not a national retailer) and get fit for the type of bike that you want. That being said, 19.5 inches sounds WAY to big for someone that is 5'2". Good Luck!
I think a 17.5" is best, I am 5'8" and I ride a 19.5"
i'm also 5'2 and i think a 15.5 is a bit too big for me =]
