How long does it take to bike 4 miles?

I'm thinking about biking to work but if it takes too long then forget it

As you've already seen from the answers you've gotten so far......it would, at a leisurely pace take you roughly 30 minutes give or take a few.......what I just wanted to add was if you decide that you'd like to go with the option of cycling to work but feel it takes a little too long.....it won't be a week or two & you'll soon be getting much stronger & able to do it in less time.
Just something worth considering as cycling is so good for you & a great stress reliever as apposed to driving or taking the bus & being stuck in traffic jams either way.

If you live in a rural area with mostly flat ground & no hold-ups, then you'd soon be covering it in 20 minutes or less easy.

Just to add something about your tyres.......if you're using a mountain bike then by changing your mountain bike tyres to slicks will get you to your destination faster & without so much effort.
It takes me about 15 minutes. If you do that you may need to take a shower at work so perhaps you will want to take 1/2 hour.
i did about 4 miles in half an hour
On her trike my daughter could manage it in a week and a half. Takes about half an hour for us to get to the papershop (groan).
not long about 20 minutes.
I would say between 15 and 30 minutes depending on your bike and how fit you are. Adverse weather conditions such strong winds are likely to add extra time onto your journey. And of course if its really hot, then you will want to cycle slower.
I've cycled 3.5 miles to work for over a year.
