Giant TCR C1 vs. C0? |
Is it worth going all Dura-Ace components or is C1 a good combo? Also anyone familiar with Beyond Fabrication home made bikes? Any feedback is appreciated! I have the 05 t-mobile and absolutely love it!! There is a difference between between Dura-ace and ultegra, but not as much as between ultegra and 105. So unless you have the money just hanging round don;t bother. Remember your shifters, and derailleurs will wear out (Dura ace actually wears out quicker than ultegra) and at that point you can upgrade. As for the Beyond bikes. I have tried one and it seems nice. However my local bike guru won't stock them. Though he has no issue with beyond, he has had problems with the level of support from similarly small operations in the past when bikes have failed. At least with Giant, you know they can send you another frame within the week (and yes Giant guarantee their frames) Dura Ace is nice....period. I've been riding D/A for almost 15 years and I have very few complaints about it. Since I race, it is worth is for me to invest in the good stuff. Now that being said, the question is - is it worth another $1,000. If you are an enthusiast who rides occassionally, you will be aboslutely fine with Ultegra. It is very good quality and has the same function as the Dura-Ace. If you ride very often and like having the best, go for the Dura Ace. i'd also stress that the C0 comes with the mavic ksyrium SL wheelset which is a big step over the elites. The TCR C1 is a good buy, personally I would not be willng to spend a grand more on Ksyrium and Dura Ace upgrades. I ride with Ultegra and despite the prestige associated with Dura Ace, It is a more than adequate groupset. There are better wheels about than the mavics anyway. |
