Saddle Height Measurements - LeMond?

Used the LeMond method (inseam x .833) to define my saddle height and found that my saddle currently sits aprox 33 mm too low!

If I raise my seatpost to this degree, I doubt I'll even be able to touch the ground.

Something I'm missing here?

I'm average height (5'11) - inseam 876 mm.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

"I doubt I'll even be able to touch the ground"

there's your problem - on a correctly fitted road or mountain bike, you're not supposed to be able to touch the ground whill seated on the saddle. you're supposed to dismount to put a foot down.

Go ahead and raise your saddle, I think you'll notice instantly you're more powerful and efficient. And learn to get comfortable starting and stopping without being seated.
If that height is more than one inch higher than your stem then you have to adjust. Remember your riders box and the mathermatical one aren't necessarily the same thing.
