Fantasy Baseball Team Help? |
How can I get my team that has been hanging anywhere from 2nd-4th place all season up into first. Heres my team: C- Brian McCann 1B- Albert Pujols 2B- Robinson Cano 3B- Alex Rodriguez SS- Derek Jeter OF- Manny Ramirez OF- Lance Berkman OF- Hideki Matsui UTIL- Ryan Braun BENCH- Dan Uggla SP- Jake Peavy SP- Daisuke Matsuzaka SP- Dan Haren RP- Bobby Jenks RP- Al Reyes P- Bob Wickman P- Roger Clemens P- Kenny Rogers DL- Randy Johnson DL- Chris Carpenter I traded for Alex Rodriguez and many of my other players just so you guys know, I didn't draft this whole team. 8 team league Suggestions are greatly appreciated. Looks like a great team, I'd mostly leave it be and wait to climb into first. If I had to make one suggestion it would be to trade Haren. He has been having a great year and his trade value should be high, but his peripherals show that he's been getting quite lucky, so his numbers should fall back to earth in the not so distant future. Get a quality player for him while you can. Thats a tough one, but I see some simple (yet effective) changes you can make. 1: Clemens is pitching great, but wont give you alot of Wins, sence the yankees havent been scoring alot of runs lately. Maybe, instead of an extra starter, find a reliever. Heath Bell is free in a good number of leauges, as is Rafel Betancourt. Neither of these guys are closers, so they offer a chance for wins, while pitching on a regular basis. 2: Robinson Cano had a great year last year, and I think hes one of the best 2B in the game. However, his numbers this year havent been outstanding, and Dan Uggla could be an option for 2B. Then, finding a utility player is pretty easy with the amount of Free Agents in an 8 team leauge. I would keep Cano, he could get hot at any time... but right now he could be holding you back a little. However, in the longrun, it's a good team. Maybe the best way to get into 1st is to just wait it out. Making too many changes is never a good thing, you miss players going on streaks. MY advice is to make one or both of these moves, and simply wait it out. In an 8 team league you're going to need more RP help, but that's probably on waivers. I don't think Hideki or Cano should be playing in this league; despite the fact their in the Yankee lineup. You've got plenty of pitching when The Unit and Carp come off the D.L. this month so maybe trade Haren or a Clemens/Cano or Matsui package for a big time OF or 2B with speed, cause you have very little there. My guess is that if you improve your speed and relief corps, you'll have a very good shot at winning the league. |
