Crap trade? |
Carlos Delgado for Andruw Jones, crap trade or not, you tell me. The Big Pop is my 1B Delgado is just utility. Andruw Jones and Carlos Delgado are nearly identical players if you look at the statistical value. Both will earn you around 110 R, 35 HR, 110 RBI in terms of power, with virtually no base stealing threat. However, the big difference between these two players is the higher batting average that Delgado will bring - thanks to Jones' tendancy to put up Dunn-like strikeout totals year after year. However, the previous post makes a valid point. If you lack star-caliber talent in the outfield, Jones is a better choice. Since you are not using Delgado at 1st base, there is likely a good power hitter that you can pick up off waivers. (i.e. Frank Thomas. I realize his total this year is low, but look at his monthly split and you will see what he's done.) well that depends...who are your other outfielders? And then again it doesn't matter cause both of them are having a really bad year. I honestly see jones turning it around before delgado does. Jones just hit another homerun and its starting to look like he might be seeing the ball a bit better. Delgado...well he hasn't done much since that one 4 game i believe 5 hr. stretch sometime last month. I would do the trade and see what happens. Either way its not like your trading hot hitters, but right now jones is hotter than delgado if you go for jones better hope he hops out of this unjoneslike season |
