my reel stops locking like its brakes broke or something
theres a set pin in your reel that falls down to lock it. usually the inside of a reel get dirty/greasy and this pin sticks in the up position. try removing the reel handle and uscrew the tension control and soak with a high quality reel oil. this will sometime clean out the reel and free the pin. if this does not work you will probably need to take it to a reel repair place.
What type of reel is it a spincast,spinning?
