What is this ugly fish? |
My parents saw this big ugly fish on a Scandinavian trip, anybody know what this is? http://irchelp.org/ugly-fish.jpg... Don't know exactly how big it is, but for scale see the counter and trash can in the back left corner. Thanks. OH MY GOD! I really didnt have an answer for you but thats the creepiest thing I've ever seen!!!! I couldnt sleep so I jumped on the computer for a few minutes...and now I'm afraid to go back to bed! But I did a google images search of 'monkfish' and indeed, it does look like a monkfish. And how horrifying to have those creatures all over the computer screen! It's a monkfish. You usually don't see them with the head on, you only eat the tail and it is dee-licious. Tastes something like lobster I guess. Very hard to find, too bad your parents didn't try some while they were there. the poor mans lobster(monkfish is tasty eating)! It could be caught in depths of 150 feet or more from Georgia to Massachusetts in the Atlantic, it's called Monkfish. |
