Where are good places to fly fish near Seattle, WA? |
Where are good places to fly fish near Seattle, WA? Seattle has some great fly fishing opportunities. For saltwater there are always our precious catch and release Searun Cutthroat trout (please use barbless hooks and be gentle with them). While fly fishing the shoreline for them you may also catch a resident Coho (small insize but fun to catch). Plus, this is the year of the Pinks (Pink salmon come in every other year) and they are predicting a huge return this year with great fly fishing fishing from the shore. I would suggest you contact a fly shop, they Puget Sound Fly Co. (on Old 99 in the Midway area) at: 253-839-4119 or email at: pugetsoundflyco@comcast.net www.pugetsoundflyco.com (for some reason the website isn't working this morning, I will have to give them a call) They can really point you in the right direction. Green Lake is always a possibility. Cottage Lake east of Woodenville is good for bass. Haller Lake is a decent choice, up north of North Gate off exit 174 & I-5, to the west. Although huge, Lake Washington can also be good. Check out this website, forum type. While it isn't a fly fishing site it will tell you where the fish are active. If the spin fishers are catching fish then they can be caught on the fly as well. http://www.washingtonlakes.com/... Good luck fishing. Larry |
