Sage 790-4 RPL 7 Weight 9 Foot Fly Rod 4 piece? |
A just inherited this rod. I know it casts really well and that Sage makes really good stuff. It is by far the nicest piece of fishng equipment I've ever owned. The Sage website had no info on it. Where kind find out other info on it? This is from the Sage website, you may have missed this..... As Exert said, RP, meaning reserve power, they were a fast action fly rod with a suppposed supple tip for in close fishing, (I had one years ago, it wasn't supple). Nonetheless, it was quite nice for long casts fishing streamers. Since you have a 7 wt, it will fill the bill for large rivers, smallmouth and light steelhead duties and will easily turn over big streamers, dries and nymphs. A sage 7 weight, 9'0" - 4 piece rod. Rpl means it is a "reserve power" fly rod. I think has a value of around $250 +/- (probably cost around $400 new). Your best bet would be to write Sage or e-mail them directly and get more specific information. That is unless some of the other very knowledgeable fly fisherman here reply to your question.
