I was using it for saltwater cats the bait shop employee said it would work, is this true? And every time I tried to cast it, it would fall off the hook so I went to dropping it stright down......How do I make it stay on the hook better? It is in the shape of a square if that helps any. If the dough is still pretty pliable ya' might try addin' some shredded cotton ball fragments and mix it in well (this should be done when initial dough is prepared, so not guaranteein' that it will incorporate well ?). Gives it more of a, "wantin' ta' stay on the hook attitude;)" like as in integrity. If it shouldn't pan out for ya', might try goin' with a treble hook and or nylon sack which is made from womens nylon stockings ~ cut in squares (slightly larger than bait), wrap your doughballs in them cinchin' excess nylon usin' "magic thread" or just plain sewin' type (use half-hitch ties) and put on Da' on hook ;)... These are made for this purpose. Use the dough bait reble hook with it then make a ball that fits on hook then just before you cast it out dip it in the water just before you make a lob cast! I will use pantie hose just as with chicken livers too!But I had good luck with shrimp or aged squid for hard heads and fresh shrimp for sailcats! |
