Which are faster Le Man's Concept Cars of F1 cars ? F1 cars by a long shot. The Le Mans Concept cars don't have nearly the same power to weight ratio, cornering force, transition speed, or braking that F1 cars have. Plus, F1 tracks are far tighter and lower speed than Le Mans and other endurance racing tracks. F1 teams vary the gear ratios and downforce at each track to get around the entire track as fast as possible but if they just wanted to get as high a top speed as possible I believe they could go 240 to 250 mph. Road and Track magazine did a simulated test of an F1 car a few years ago with the Jaguar (now BAR) team who said that according to thier telemetry and computer modeling they can get an F1 car to accelerate much faster 0-60 or 0-100 or top speed than they do for the tight tracks that are used in F1. I still enjoy Le Mans more than F1 and support it more than F1 because even the Le Mans concept cars are far closer to road cars than F1 cars. Also, technology from Le Mans can actually filter down to production road cars while F1 cars are so different that despite what people may say or believe, F1 technology will never exactly translate to a road car or drive innovation in road cars. who cares!!!! around a track F1. They are much lighter. staightline, i think prototypes are since the rev limit of 16k on F1. though if you eliminate the rev limit then it is no telling how fast a F1 car is Concept cars have a higher top speed but F1 cars are all about changing direction. The average speed for the Monaco Grand Prix is only about 95 mph but a concept car would be useless there against the acceleration of an F1 car. An F1 car has been described as "the weight of a mini with ten times the power" and can go from a standing start to 100mph and back to stop in a shade over six seconds. Before the engine sizes were reduced from 3 litre to 2.8 litre, an F1 car could go from standing to 100mph in 3.2 seconds and incorporating five gear changes. Le mans cars are made more for long distance unlike formula 1 cars which are made for much shorter races Lemans cars also have much larger fuel tanks a f1 car can be made to go faster in a strait line but is set up to corner. so it is all up to set up . but a LM car will go faster in a strait line if set up right , will take longer to get there f1 is faster in all aspects or at Least since the chicanes were added to the long straight at le sarth, in a 70 lap grand prix the f1 would win by a long shot, in the 24 hour do mons? the f1 car would break down about half way through at best, so its kinds like different strokes for different folks |
