Why do soccer players walk out with little kids?
i've noticed that in most professional and international soccer games played in the states and abroad that the players walk out with young kids, i was wondering what the significance of this or what the purpose of this is
Lots of interesting answers, but the original reason was to emphasize sportsmanship. The players are supposed to think about how they are the role models for these young kids, and hopefully that will be reflected in their actions and attitudes on the field....
they are big NAMBLA supporters.
To make pedo's watch the football and so the tv companies get better ratings!
really now I think it's because they're some kinda mascot or for good luck
It all depends. sometimes some player take their own children, sometimes they support diferent organizations, orfanatories, hospitals, schools, and kids walk out with the players on to the field before game time.
they are eitrher supporters, fans, or working charity organisation.
Clubs walk out with kids for 2 reasons - There parents paid a boat load of money to the club for the kid to walk out with the team. They get a free kit, lunch and some other knick knacks. If you pay the most you get to have the picture taken when the captains shake hands and exchange pennants. Everton and I think Man City charge. Not cheap either. Almost 1,000 pounds.
The other reason is for charity. Kids that have terminal diseases like Cancer get to walk out with the team for free.
Manchester United actually falls into this category
