And I thought Paraguay was a good team??? Anyone else had the same conception??? A big factor in this game was that they were playing with a player less. Mexico clearly wore them all out, making them chase the ball back and forth....at one point Paraguay realized it was no use to chase it and stopped going for it. Who knows what would of happened had they played with all their players. Mexico took advantage of their mistake. Excellent win and very good sportsmanship....they never made fun of Paraguay. Hopefully things will keep looking good for the rest of the tournament for Mexico. To the guy below....no it is not "bs" the whole one player less thing. If you say this, you clearly know nothing about soccer. Any individual who has played for a team, knows that yes it is a factor when you play with even 1 man less. It wears you out like crazy and yes, Mexico took advantage of this like i said and they got way ahead early. When your opponent is up by a large margin, it also does damage mentally to the players out there on the field. I am not taking anything away from Mexico, hey they are my team also.....but let's be realistic when it comes to facts! No heart, no win same goes for Chile and Venezuela. they had a good defense but what happened? Losing the keeper so early in the game was the turning point here. As a coach, it forces you to change your original plan. Great win for Mexico. The Tricolores are showing that they are still at the top... regardless of the stupid Gold Cup ;-) thats bs about the one less player. Mexico is playing without 3 of there best players. the truth is Paraguay quit and showed no heart. and im just calling it like i saw it. Losing Bobadilla and need to comeback the entire game did Paraguay in...... When a team goes for goal...they leave their defense vulnerable...Mexico took advantage.... Its just one of those days......same thing happen to Colombia with this exact same team...... Smells like a Mexico-Argentina rematch! Paraguay IS a good team. But this wasn't their day: Two minutes into the game and Paraguay gets a red card, to their number #1 goalkeeper! They had to sacrifice one of their field players to substitute for another goalkeeper and they had to play with ten players for 88 + minutes. And they had to waste one of their three substitutions. Plus they had two penalties against them. The last penalty was a good call, I'm not so sure about the first one. After the first goal they lost confidence I assume and by the end, they didn't care if they let anymore goals slip. Mexico played great though that's no doubt. But things would have been different if all the above stuff didnt happen. |
