What has happened to the brazilian soccer team?

omg they have drastically changed. they are playing very poorly..its just sad..i don't want to see them lose their title of the soccer kings.. is it the deffense? the coach? or the team stars? im really disapointed because i really wished brazil improved again...and had more possibilities of winning the 2010 world cup.

Brazil will always be the best don't worry.
the thing is that brazil isnt playing like a team
all the individual players want to show off and look like starsand its just not working rather than passing the ball and getting a good shot at goal the players keep the ball to themselves and try to get impossible goals
i think that theyll improve really soon though Brazil is known for its amazing football and that title will never be taken away
I'm not really sure whether you are referring to the Copa America or the U20 squad. I wouldn't read too much into their senior squad at Copa America. They are missing their best players (Ronaldinho, Kaka, Lucio, etc.). Brazil places higher priority on the World Cup.

If this were the World Cup they would send their "A" Team. This particular cycle is simply more important to Argentina. The Argies sent their best team because they are determined to win it.
Simple answer: They did not bring there best players out there. I they did I am sure they would be doing the opposite of losing.
Psychology, not tactics, lost the games (and possibly the whole tournament) for the arrogant Brazilian U-20 team. It's going to continue happening until Brazil starts to take other countries more seriously as opponents.

Consider the game against Korea. They were leading through individual plays made by star players. That's the strength of Brazil. They pass well, then let star strikers get goals. Usually that's enough to win. In the Korea game, in which they lead 3-0 almost to the final whistle, Brazil became arrogant and proud of themselves too early. The result was an embarrassment almost equal to the loss against Poland. Korea came back and worked as a team to get goals and almost win the game. If Korea had five more minutes, they would have scored a third goal.

Brazil's problem is they play as individuals, not as a team. Sure, they pass the ball together, but the moment the star players get the ball, they hog it and try to score. As we've seen, they lose chances this way. Pressure to get that goal as individuals causes loses as a team. Korea broke down Brazilian psychology in game 2 of the U-20 WC because they ganged up as a team against them. Brazil, suddenly on the defensive, was too shocked to believe some poor Asian team could possibly beat them. Same happened against Poland, a team everyone thought was "weak". Brazil's arrogance and hog-ball gameplay style lost the game for them.

Brazil's adult team had the same problems in WC 2006. They lost to France largely due to their star players hogging the ball and trying to be the superstar goal scorers. There are many good, tough teams from little known countries that are becoming better and better. Brazil's days as champions for long stretches of time may be coming to an end. They have only their arrogance to blame for it, not their talents.
