Can I use a normal battery in my Spyder Pilot ACS? |
My Kingman Spyder Pilot ACS paintball marker came with a rechargeable 9.6 volt battery... I was wondering if I could use a normal battery as a back up in case my rechargeable one runs out.... The manual said only to use Kingman approved rechargeable batteries... You definitely should stick with the 9.6 volt battery. Will your marker work on a regular 9 volt? Yes. Is it good for the marker? NO....at least not long term. There have been reports of fried boards. There are also problems that the little "low battery" light will stay on all the time when you're using a regular 9 volt on occasions. For the most part if your battery is charged properly you shouldn't have a problem with it going dead on you unless you're playing an insanely long time. The 9.6 battery will actually last longer in your marker than the regular 9. Two ideas for you. 1. pick up an extra 9.6 volt if you're really worried about it. 2. get a car charger from kingman. That way if for some reason you run dead, you can plug it in and in a couple minutes you're good to go for awhile. Wrong I've had one and I use a 9.6 volt battery works just fine. u can use a regular battery u just cant charge it it would work but i recommend only doing it in worst case scenarios or u could buy another battery from kingman |
